Winter in Essen always comes by surprise. It is not like winter is upon us but somehow November comes, December comes, it snows and as soon that happens we are in an stage of emergency. For the winter service winter is something totally unusual and so they never really know what to do, expect: salt. They drop that much salt on the streets that artificial leather shoes fall apart. They drop that much salt that after one day they experience a shortage in salt.
