The last episode of the Ruhrpott tetralogie is now online at Ruhrpott Part IV - long…
Photography about essen
The city in the ruhr area:
- not sexy
- bicycle unfriendly
- too many cars
- lack of parks
- public transport is a nightmare
- cinemas are pretty good
- traffic jams
- over bureaucratic
- unbalanced poor to rich ratio
- more shine than be
- A40 sucks
During Essen 2010, Essen was the European cultural capital during that year; the people of the Ruhr-Area organized a lot of events.
Waiting for the bus
When I went silk screening I got up early, actually that early that I had to take the bus instead of the 109 (which is always delayed, I never go…
2nd version of the sundown in winter in Essen. I kind a like both version. Which one is your favourite?
Consume your ass off
I was one my way to the Unperfekthaus to meet the Quadcopter club when I saw the advertisment lights at the shopping center Limbecker Platz.
Another great sundown in Essen, Germany. I love those Ruhrpott sundowns. They are special, kind of. The color composition is so unique.
Stairway to happen
Ever been to Berliner Platz in Essen. It is (was?) one those ugly subway stations. Actually a real ugly one.
Ride and Park
One of the loneliest places in Essen, at least at that time I took the photo. Some hours earlier our later it would look different.
Du schon leben?
Are you still integrating or are you already living? is the question on of this artwork.
this lovely Ruhrpott sundowns. Something I will miss once I went away from Essen. You want to know why I'd like to leave...
The A40 divides Essen in two parts, South and North. The further south you go the bigger the houses become, the richer the people look.
The storm is coming
The rainfall was that heavy that we couldn't see the water tower in the distance, the city hall wasn't visible as well.
you already know: I love Sundowns in the Ruhrgebiet. Especially when it showes the small Ruhrhattan in the background
I can't get enough of this. I can't get enough of this. I can't get enough of this. I can't get enough of this. I can't get enough of this.
Taking down the N
The Norris bank closed in Essen Huttrop at one point, but they didn't take down their logo from the top of the building.
Cars, cars, cars. Those cars need more space than the people. Streets are everywhere. Do you see bikes? No, of course not.
Just throw your stuff away. It isn't necessary to buy stuff that lasts longer; you are able to buy cheap stuff whenever you need it. Just go one…
I did a little bit travelling by bicycle and once came across a small chemical plant. I took a series of about 20 long term insolations.
To the Hauptbahnhof
While walking to the Hauptbahnhof (main station) in Essen I saw that perfect alignment of the teletower at the far distance.
No bikes please
no bikes please. While Essen invests a lot in so called Schnellradwege (far distant bicycle roads) the don't do anything for bicycles in the city…
